FAQ
What does CrateManager do?
CrateManager reduces the busywork between track discovery, buying, and DJ-library prep. It matches tracks from your discovery sources to purchase sources, checks what you already have, and outputs rekordbox-ready playlists.
What problem does it solve?
DJs discover music in one place, buy it in another, and then manually rebuild or reconcile playlists in their DJ software. The pain is the repetitive searching, comparing versions, and checking duplicates — CrateManager automates those steps.
Does it replace rekordbox/Serato/Traktor?
No, it acts as a bridge. It prepares your “crate” so that your library software receives perfectly organized, matched, and rekordbox-ready data.
How does matching work?
Matching is based on track metadata (artist/title) and version hints (mix/edit/extended, remaster, etc.). When there are multiple likely matches, you’ll be able to review/choose (instead of guessing blindly).
How does this prevent duplicate buys?
Before you build your purchase list, CrateManager compares candidates against your existing DJ library. If a track (or equivalent version) is already in your collection, it gets flagged so you don’t buy it again.
Do I need internet while performing?
Not at all. CrateManager is a preparation tool used before your gig. Once your tracks are exported to your DJ software, you perform offline as usual.
Is my music uploaded to the cloud?
No. We prioritize your privacy. CrateManager only processes metadata and workflow info; your actual music files never leave your local hardware.
Which platforms supported?
The beta focuses on the most common workflow: discovery on spotify + buying on beatport + exporting to rekordbox. Support for additional services depends on demand from beta users.
What’s in beta?
We are currently testing the core matching engine and automated shopping list tools. Early beta users help us refine the library preparation workflow.
Pricing?
CrateManager is free during our beta phase for early adopters. We plan to offer a subscription model later that reflects the massive time-savings it provides.
